Minecraft Map Plugin

In Minecraft, having a decent overview of your server is crucial. The in-game maps only cover a limited area compared to the actual size of your server. The Dynmap map generates a fully dynamic view of your entire map, including any underground caves. This way you get to see a 3D view of all tunnels and caves, both man-made and natural.

This map plugin is similar to Google Maps in that it can be look at in a browser. It’s simple to set up when you are using Dynmap’s integrated web-server which is ready to go right out of the box. It can also be integrated onto existing sites that run on Apache. Dynmap can also render your world/s utilizing different types of renders. Some renders are best for seeing details while others are more suitable for high performance.

When running a separate server such as Apache you need to copy your files from plugins/dynmap/web to the directory in your http-root. You then follow the guide found at https://github.com/webbukkit/dynmap/wiki/Setting-up-without-the-Internal-Web-Server

Using it For the First Time

When starting CraftBukkit you need to be able to circumnavigate to http://yourserverip:8123/ in your web browser. If you are running CraftBukkit on a PC that you’re also working on you can also go to http://localhost:8123/. You will be able to look at all players who are in the game but note that this map isn’t rendered yet so the background will be dark.

If you wish to use the HD rendering you should now do it. You need to enable ‘deftemplatesuffic: hires’ in ‘configuration.txt’. If you only want to see Dynmap in action you can use the following-

/dynmap fullrender
