Every game has one mod and creator that are the most popular and are legends in the making. In the case of Minecraft customization and user-generated texture packs, the legend in the making has always been creator Doku and his project Dokucraft. Sadly, the original texture pack was discontinued before the Adventure Update to Minecraft; however, it was eventually brought back to life by a new team with the original creator’s blessing. This mod has been renamed Dokucraft: The Saga Continues and it is compatible with the current version of Minecraft, 1.2.5.
Originally, there were three different styles of the Dokucraft texture pack and each style dictated the shading style of the graphics: Normal, Light and Dark. However, there is one major change with Dokucraft: The Saga Continues; a new customizer option that allows you to mix and match different shades to match the style you want. This, coupled with the current version compatibility, are just some of the advantages that Dokucraft: The Saga Continues offers over its predecessor.
The three styles of Dokucraft: The Saga Continues offer varying experiences depending on the one you choose. If you want to explore your world in a happy-go-lucky manner, while enjoying the peace of crafting and building without worrying about the creatures of the night, then Dokucraft Light is for you. If you are more interested in a survival-type setting, exploring through a dark and lifeless world only inhabited by your character and the hostile, sneaky and deadly creatures that wander the forest and caves at night, then Dokucraft Dark might be more your cup of tea. If you are looking for nicer graphics and do not have a real opinion one way or another about settings and creatures or you want graphics that translate well into either setting, then Dokucraft Normal is the most versatile one available.
One thing that might throw off prospective users is the fact that Dokucraft: The Saga Continues uses graphics from another game as its advertisement. Users should keep in mind that it doesn’t drastically change the graphics in that manner; it still uses the same voxel type that Minecraft uses. If you are looking to enhance the graphics Minecraft already has then Dokucraft is a must-play mod.
