In order to craft an item you must place resources into a crafting grid. These resources must be obtained from your inventory and placed in a specific pattern in order to create the specific item you want to craft.
You can craft some small patterns on a 2×2 grid and the larger patterns on a 3×3 grid. The 2×2 grid can be found on your inventory screen. The larger 3×3 grid can be used after you create a crafting table. Once the crafting table is created and placed on the ground you can right click on it. It doesn’t matter where on the grid they are placed. You just need to make sure and use the correct pattern for each item.
