Downloading and installing a map for Minecraft is a very simple process. Before we start, download the Minecraft map and find the location of this download. If you don’t already have a map to download, you can easily find some on Google or YouTube.
Use WinRAR or the Windows unzipping program to extract any compressed files. WinRAR should only be used if you’re having trouble extracting the files with Windows.
Next, rename the folder you just downloaded and extracted and name it according to the slot you would like it to be in. If you want it in the second slave slot, you’d have to rename it to World2. Please note that there should be no spaces in the new name.
After you renamed the folder, your newly downloaded map is ready. Using Windows, open the Start menu and search for the program “Run”. In this window, type %appdata% and hit enter. This should open a folder that contains the folder known as Roaming. Open it, and find “.minecraft”.
Once you have the “.minecraft” folder open, locate and open the “saves” folder. Open it and move the previously downloaded map folder into this folder.
That’s it! You can now play on the map you just downloaded. Enjoy!
